Polydioxanone.

 

Description:

Synthetic monofilament barded suture long term absorption.

 

Colour:

Violet (D&C Violet n. 2 = C.I. 60725) or undyed.

 

Sizes and standard needles:

EP from 2 to 5; USP from 3/0 to 2; Darvin Loc is attached to AISI 300 or AISI 400 stainless steel atraumatic needles; “easy-detaching” needle type is also available to allow the detachment of the needle by a simple movement of the needle-holder.

 

Tensile strength:

After 28 days from implant between ∼ 70% and ∼ 75% of the tensile strength remains, after 42 days between ∼ 55% and ∼ 60%.

 

Absorption Complete:

within 180-210 days.

In general surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery.
